For Teachers
WELCOME!
We are so glad you’re here. EPAK accepts grant applications from teachers in the Ravenswood City School District and from the public charter schools located in East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park.
Who can apply? Educators with student-facing roles are eligible, including: infants through 12th grade classroom teachers, special education teachers, counselors, athletics coaches, reading interventionists, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, health & wellness staff, makerspace teachers and school librarians. The list of schools and programs can be found here). Other positions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
What is the amount of a grant? The maximum amount of our twice-yearly regular grants is $750. New Teacher grants are an additional $375. Special Grants can be up to $5,000.

What kinds of projects get funded? Approved Categories for Regular Grants:
– Materials for class projects such as science experiments, socio-emotional regulation work, classroom culture building, and art
– Field Trips that are related to the curriculum
– Books, supplies, and manipulatives needed for in-person instruction
– Subscriptions or fees to instructional apps and online educational sites for student use
– Unique projects designed to address the needs of your students – be creative!
What will not get funded? EPAK does not fund the following:
– Food
– Incentives
– Prizes
– Individual consumables like snacks or gift cards
– Parties
– Professional development and salaries
– School uniforms
– Health-, medical- and hygiene-related supplies
What if my project will cost more than $750? If you have a larger project in mind, such as multi-class field trips, playground structures or equipment that exceeds the parameters of a regular grant, the Special Grant is perfect for you! Team up with one or more colleague to apply. You can still also receive a regular grant for your classroom needs.
Grant Applications must:
• Contain a clear, concise description of the proposed project (click here for examples)
• Include a detailed requested budget with specific items and prices related to the project proposal
• Be submitted by the application deadline
• Receive approval by the school administration
• Be followed by a Post-Project Report (PPR) at the end of the grant period
